• Upgrades the Econo set with a white back zip jacket, a Fleche blade, and a Collegiate competition glove.

• A back zip jacket works just as well as a front zip, once you have it on. The drawback is that if you’re not really limber, you’ll need someone else to zip it for you, and the tailoring isn’t quite as handsome as the front zip jackets.

• The Collegiate glove is a full leather glove with a canvas cuff. Its flexibility makes it easy to wield the weapon.

• The Combi mask is a great value – it meets the European (CE) safety standard, has comfortable padding, and is regulation for all domestic competitions.

• The Fleche Foil uses a Russian-made blade that for years has set the standard for reliability. (French (straight) grip is standard --add $X for a pistol grip.)

• The Novice fencing bag is a sturdy, attractive fencing bag that lets you carry your beginner set on the street or the bus (Be prepared to be asked, “What instrument is that?”) When you are ready for competitions and have to carry multiple weapons and more gear, you’ll need a bigger one, but this will serve you well until then.
